A "trick" causes two sisters to be killed by their husbands out of "honour"

The two Spanish sisters, of Pakistani origin, Anisa Abbas, 24, and Arouj Abbas, 21, did not realize that their trip to their hometown would be their last, and that their end would be at the hands of their husbands.

Anisa and Arouj were deceived, as they were asked to travel to the city of Gujarat in the east of the country, before the couple shot them on Friday, the day after their arrival, in a new crime under the pretext of "honour", according to the investigation official.

According to the British Guardian newspaper, the two sisters were pressured by the family to help the couple (cousins), whom they were forcibly married last year, to obtain visas to travel to Europe.

This request was rejected by Anisa and Arug, who wanted to obtain a divorce, in order to allow them to remarry in Spain, and they were doomed to death.

And the Pakistani authorities arrested six men in connection with the crime, they are the couple, their uncle, their brother and two other men.

Hundreds of women are killed by family members in Pakistan annually in so-called "honour" crimes for violating conservative norms that govern women's relations with men, and these crimes also affect those with dual nationalities.

According to the Independent Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, more than 470 cases of "honour" crimes were reported in the country last year.

Earlier this year, the murder of Qandeel Baloch, known as the "Pakistani Kim Kardashian" by her brother, sparked national outrage.

Her brother was sentenced to life in prison, then acquitted in February after his parents pardoned him.
