The 14th edition of the Dakar Biennale is one of the major events in Africa in the field of visual arts.

From May 19 to June 21, 2022, 59 artists from across the African continent and the diaspora have been selected to pay tribute to the creativity of contemporary African art.

Like last Friday (May 20, 2022), VMDN set up its ephemeral studio at the heart of the Dakar Contemporary Art Biennale, in the interior garden, in the center of the atrium of the former Palais de Justice, one of main venues of the IN Festival.

In this program, we will take you to discover this 14th edition with our guests: 

  • Marième Ba, 

    general secretary of the Biennale

  • Massamba MBaye, 

    curator of the Senegal Pavilion

  • Henri N'Koumo

    , commissioner of the flag of Côte d'Ivoire.

We will also hear interviews with two artists from the Biennale:

Burkinabe street artist

El Marto

 and Cameroonian painter

Hako Hankson.
