The demise of Israel is the wish of many supporters of Palestine, and it controlled many until they became prisoners of desire-minded thinking that made them in many stations submit to rosy dreams that convince them that they will inevitably vanish. When Israel was thrown into the sea, those people were affected by this discourse to the extent that some of them refused, after the Nakba, to buy lands and build homes, on the grounds that asylum is a temporary phase, and that the occupation will soon end.

Although this conviction still controls many, some have been negatively affected by those rosy dreams, so they completely deny the possibility of their demise - at least in the near future - for reasons, the most important of which are the difference in military and scientific power, the consolidation of alliances that link the entity and the Western system, and the defeatism of many Arab regimes and armies.

Gideon Levy said: No one will be able to stop the process of internal Israeli self-destruction, because Israel's cancerous disease has reached its last stages and there is no way to treat it, while the Israeli historian Benny Morris confirmed that Israel is a place whose sun will set and will witness dissolution or diving in the mud, and within years the Arabs and Muslims will win and the Jews will be A minority in this land, either persecuted or killed.

Perhaps our discussion in this field would have been far from logical analysis had it not been for the statements issued by Zionist officials who warn of an imminent danger threatening Israel. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak mentioned in an article that he fears that Israel will be subjected to the curse of the eighth decade that afflicted former Jewish states as a state David or the state of the Hasmonean.

The former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in 2017 that he would strive to ensure that Israel lived for 100 years, and that this is not self-evident, because no Jewish state has ever reached the age of 80, which is what the current Prime Minister of the occupation, Naftali Bennett, warned of later.

As for the Israeli Minister of Defense, Benny Gantz, he said that the fears of the Palestinians taking control of Israel in the future are not far from reality, and that Israel will shrink in the coming years to become between the settlements of Ghadira and Hadera.

As for Yuval Diskin, the former head of the Shin Bet, he said that Israel will not remain for the next generation, and it was not limited to Israeli officials. Former US President Donald Trump expressed his belief that Israel will be eliminated.

Also, Zionist journalists, intellectuals and writers have expressed similar concerns. General (Reserve) Shaul Arieli said that Israel has failed to realize and embody the Zionist dream, and it is on the path of losing it, while journalist Ari Shavit said that Israel is taking its last breath. As for writer Gideon Levy, he said that No one will be able to stop the process of internal Israeli self-destruction. Israel's cancerous disease has reached its last stages, and there is no way to treat it.

In turn, the Israeli historian Benny Morris confirmed that Israel is a place whose sun will set and will witness dissolution or diving into the mud, and within years the Arabs and Muslims will win and the Jews will be a minority in this land, either persecuted or killed.

These attitudes could not be repeated in this way without a real sense of the danger of demise. It is not natural to hear about a state - no matter how weak or living in harsh conditions - the majority of its leaders talk about its imminent demise from the map.

Reasons for Israeli concern about the danger of demise

The fears of the Israelis about the danger of demise stem from a number of important and dangerous reasons, whether on the State of Israel for its sensitive position as an occupied minority in a hostile Arab milieu, or on other nations that live in a normal situation, and the most important of these reasons are:

  • Chronic internal division and loss of leadership

Israel is experiencing an unprecedented division these days, as the parliamentary forces that are supposed to form the government are scattered into a large group of parties that coalesced into two main blocs, one of which could not reach the majority except in alliance with an Arab list, in a dangerous precedent from the point of view of many Israelis. The ongoing governance crisis since March 2019 led to four electoral rounds that finally ended with the current government headed by Naftali Bennett, and it is a strange mixture that extends from the extreme right-wing settlement to the far left, passing through some Arab representatives.

However, this government is one of the most serious indicators of Israel’s weakness for reasons, including: it relies on a very small majority, where one deputy can control it and bring it down whenever he wants, and its president has only 6 seats, in a paradox that no democracy has ever witnessed. It is true that Israel was considered a democracy - before, so how can democracy express the opinion of the public when the prime minister represents only 6 out of 120 seats?

And the third thing is that Bennett is unable to control this government. Each of its ministers acts as he pleases without control or oversight, and no one considers him a representative of the components of that government. Rather, they had to appoint him to this position only in order to succeed in dismissing Netanyahu, and therefore it has no regulator. Other than him, and once he's gone, their alliance will disintegrate and Bennett will be abandoned.

In addition to the above, Israel today lacks the competence of its founding leaders. The current politicians are corrupt, opportunists, and keen on their interests in the main, and are ready to do all the hardships in order to win power. This is what made the political researcher Ephraim Ganor describe the condition of the Israelis as the earth shakes beneath them, angry and anxious as they stand watching a nation A torn and divided society, waiting for a savior and a miracle to extricate them from the smoldering hatred that burns every part of the country.

And this is what Netanyahu sensed, so he invested the Israelis’ concern about him to convince them that he was the right alternative, as he said in an opposition rally in which he addressed the government coalition, “You are causing damage to the Jewish identity, go to your homes because you are weak, you are weak in the face of Iran, you are weak in the face of terrorism, and when the government appears Israel is weak, we see its enemies raise their heads, Israel urgently needs strong leadership."

  • Loss of sacrifice and fighting spirit and willingness to pay the price

Anyone who observes Israel notices the loss of its army, its willingness to sacrifice, its fear of human loss, its addiction to calm, and its complete dependence on the air force, to the extent that a major deception plan failed in the Battle of Saif al-Quds, because the army did not want to risk a ground operation on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip, which enabled the resistance Who revealed that plan and bypassed it, which was very clear after the killing of an Israeli soldier on the Gaza border months ago, as his family attacked the army and its leaders with the utmost cruelty, even though they were always in the norms of Israeli society, heroes and sacred symbols, which was criticized by Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi, considering A nation that loses its willingness to sacrifice is defeated.

Major General (Reserve) in the Israeli army, Isaac Brik, had criticized the sensitivity of his army to human losses, the decline in fighting spirit, the erosion of willingness to sacrifice, the tendency of soldiers to serve in non-combat units, the loss of confidence in commanders, and the unpreparedness of the land force for war, which he considered leading Israel to the abyss. .

  • The escalation of the Palestinian resistance

The Israelis live with great concern about the growing strength of the Palestinian resistance, and the spread of faith in it as an idea and an example. In Gaza there is great boldness and initiative as this was shown in the last battle, and a clear challenge to Israel, and a possession of deterrent power, as Israel has become unable to practice the policy of assassinations or the policy of the battle between wars. Through which the enemy’s strength is engulfed, and Gaza threatens in every important event to return to the battlefield, such as storming Al-Aqsa, slaughtering sacrifices, or invading Jenin camp.

But the most dangerous thing that Israel sees is the success of the resistance in linking the various Palestinian arenas, as the occupation sees in the Palestinians of the interior a great danger in any upcoming battle, a danger so urgent that it is engaged in training and making plans to confront it, and the audacity of the Jerusalemites who now see them in Gaza is escalating. A supporter, and they are chanting the name of its leaders, such as Muhammad al-Dhaif, and facing any incursion into al-Aqsa with force and determination, as well as in the West Bank, especially what is happening in Jenin camp, where the Israeli army is talking about the necessity of using helicopters to confront the camp’s fighters, due to its inability to storm it without losses in its ranks.

All of these dangers coincide with the escalation of the confrontation with the regional enemies of the occupation, such as Iran, which, through its allies, surrounds Israel from the north, south and east, which makes it vulnerable to tens of thousands of missiles from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Iran, while Israel is unable to stop the Iranian nuclear program, and in At the same time, it sees Washington abandoning its allies, as happened in Ukraine, and withdrawing from the region, as happened in Afghanistan.

All of the above puts Israel in front of existential risks, and prompts it to question its inevitable fate, but this does not necessarily mean that it is a near or distant fate, but rather a step in the path of a decline that is accelerated or slowed only by those who wish to eliminate it.
