[Explanation] With the acceleration of urbanization and industrialization, the incidence of allergic diseases has continued to increase in recent years, especially in the alternate seasons of spring and summer, and the incidence of young people is particularly evident.

Allergic diseases have the characteristics of multiple occurrences and long duration, and have been listed by the World Health Organization as one of the key diseases to prevent and control in the 21st century. How to effectively treat allergic diseases has become a top priority in the medical field.

[Explanation] The Allergy and Immunity Summit hosted by Xiamen Chang Gung Hospital and Beijing Tsinghua University School of Medicine ended successfully on May 22. In addition to the offline meeting held in Xiamen, the three-day agenda also attracted academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professors from Beijing Tsinghua University, Nearly 40 experts in the field of allergy and immunity, including professors of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, professors from Chiba University in Japan, Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Taiwan scholars, discussed the basic and clinical research of allergic diseases, the progress of diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, T cells and allergic diseases and other related topics to carry out all-round exchanges online and offline.

[Same period] Cai Yinghuang, a Taiwanese expert specially hired by Xiamen City, President of Xiamen Chang Gung Memorial Hospital

Regarding allergies, I think these big names have given us a lot of inspiration.

Like Professor Chatila (Harvard Medical School), he also mentioned that the loss of immune control may be one of the causes of immune diseases or allergic diseases. We paid less attention to this in the past, so he thinks that some treatments of source control may also be It is very important that I think these are all high-level expressions, and they are all professional (research) matters in the world.

[Explanation] Experts at the meeting pointed out that there are still major deficiencies in the accurate diagnosis, effective prevention and clinical treatment of allergic diseases. Basic research scientists should work together with clinicians to transform research results into clinical treatment guidelines and improve allergic diseases. Effects of sexually transmitted diseases prevention and treatment.

[Concurrent] Chen Liang, deputy director of the Allergy Center of Xiamen Chang Gung Hospital

To do this kind of joint research is to make up for this shortcoming, because for example, we have clinical advantages and a large patient group, but our basic research is relatively weak, because after all, we are clinicians, not The doctors in the laboratory, the doctors in the laboratory, have time to raise cells and animals every day, but after they have this foundation and then transfer to us (clinical treatment), we can easily produce some results, but it may take some time.

[Explanation] It is understood that since the establishment of the Allergic Disease Joint Research Center between Xiamen Chang Gung Hospital and Beijing Tsinghua University School of Medicine in 2019, the team of Professor Dong Chen and Professor Liu Yuncai of Tsinghua University School of Medicine; the team of Professor Cai Yinghuang and Zhong Wenhong of Xiamen Chang Gung Hospital, etc. In conjunction with Taiwanese experts and scholars, we have studied the occurrence and progress of allergic diseases, and reduced allergic reactions through immunological intervention. We have made preliminary breakthroughs and brought "good news" to patients with allergic diseases.
