A wolf hunt lieutenant shot a wolf in Gigors-et-Lozeron (Drôme) on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
The specialist intervened in the property of a breeder in which several attacks had already taken place during the previous 12 months.
The shot that killed the animal is a reinforced defense shot, specifies France Bleu Drôme Ardèche.
300 beasts killed by wolves
Attacks attributed to wolves are increasing in the Drôme.
88 of them have been officially registered since the beginning of the year.
They caused the death of more than 300 animals.
The fatal shooting in Gigors-et-Lozeron is the third wolf slaughter in the department since January 1, 2022.
The first took place on the night of February 8 to 9 on the heights of Crest (Drôme).
The second had already intervened in Gigors-et-Lozeron on the night of March 7 to 8.
The slaughtered wolf was then on land belonging to the same breeder.
