On the morning of the 22nd, the JR Sotobo Line train that was running in Chiba Prefecture collided with a tree that had fallen on the track, and the Sotobo Line was suspended from driving in some sections, but about 11 after the accident. Operation resumed before 5:30 pm, after hours.

According to JR East, after 6:30 am on the 22nd, a regular train going down the JR Sotobo Line collided with a tree lying on the track in Onjuku Town, Chiba Prefecture.



The accident cracked the windowpane of the driver's seat of the leading vehicle, but 17 passengers and occupants were not injured.



The site was in the mountains about 1 km southwest of Onjuku Station on the Sotobo Line, and there were no fallen trees around midnight on the 22nd when the train last passed this section before the accident.



Due to the impact of this accident, the Sotobo Line was suspended on the up and down lines between Ohara Station and Awa-Kamogawa Station, but JR East said that it was possible to confirm safety by removing trees, etc., about 11 hours after the accident. Operation resumed at 5:20 pm later.
