Egypt: A new "resting place" in Damietta collected millions and fled

Yesterday, specialized Egyptian authorities revealed that a new restroom appeared in Damietta Governorate, which managed to deceive a large number of people and seized tens of millions of their own money.

The Egyptian "Cairo 24" website said that the new Al-Masreha practiced defrauding the people professionally, and deluded them that it would invest their money in many areas, which would bring them huge profits.

Olfat Abdel Hamid, one of the victims of Damietta's restroom, said that she owns her own hairdressing shop, and through this shop she got acquainted with the accused, who used to treat her like any other client, but with time their relationship developed and she told her that she owns a manual workshop and a factory for underwear.

She added that the accused offered her to share her work in the field of handicrafts, where she told her that she manufactures sets of handicrafts, the cost of which reaches about 70 thousand pounds, but she exports them to the Gulf, and there she sells them for 150 thousand pounds.

Olfat explained that she started thinking about the offer and decided to participate in it, because she believed that working in this field would bring her huge gains in money, as she said: “I thought that this job would give me a little comfort, but I did not have this 70 thousand pounds with me, so I kept collecting.” The money is from those around me."

She continued, "I did not doubt her for a moment, because she was known in Damietta, had her shops and lived in a king's house, but she disappeared from the month of 8 in 2019 after I took all my money."
