A national competition was held in Aomori City where people involved in forestry competed for techniques such as cutting trees using a chainsaw.

This tournament is held once every two years by an executive committee created by the National Federation of Forestry Associations to improve technology, and the top-ranked athletes will participate in the world tournament to be held in Estonia next April. ..

On the 22nd, 23 of the 97 participants who won the qualifying round faced the final in which they competed in the 5th event.

Of these, the event called "cutting" is to defeat a tree with a height of about 15 meters near the target pile within the time limit, and compete for speed and accuracy. Applause and cheers were rising.

Sora Yamaoka, a 19-year-old from Nagano Prefecture, said, "I was nervous, but I was able to defeat it closer to the stake than when I was practicing, and I enjoyed the competition."

In addition, there was an event to quickly cut the branches attached so as not to damage the logs, and the visitors were looking at the powerful chainsaw judgment of the players.

A woman in her 40s in Kanagawa Prefecture, who was in the audience, said, "It's the first time I've seen a tree cut down, but it's powerful and realistic, and I wanted to come back again."
