"The RATP currently forecasts highly disrupted traffic on the Bus and Tramway networks, with 60% of traffic provided on average for the day of Monday, May 23," she said in a press release.

The RATP thus plans 3 trams out of 5 on average during peak hours;

as well as 2 out of 3 buses, with the interruption of certain lines.

More precise information will be communicated on Sunday.

“The metro and RER networks are not affected by this notice”, she underlined.

For more than a year, the RATP has been negotiating with the unions to adapt the working conditions of its 18,000 machinists to the opening up to competition.

No agreement having been reached, the management announced at the beginning of May that it would take unilateral measures.

Three days of strike are planned for May 23, 24 and 25 at the call of all the unions, after the day of March 25 which had severely disrupted the bus and tram networks.
