On the 23rd of last month, 14 passengers were killed in the accident where the sightseeing boat "KAZU 1" sank off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, and the whereabouts of 12 people are still unknown.



The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has begun preparatory work for the withdrawal of a sightseeing boat that sank to a depth of about 120 meters on the 21st, but the work will be suspended for a day due to strong winds expected on the 22nd. I am doing it.

According to the 1st Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, the salvage company's work vessel "Transgression" has returned to Abashiri Port near the site, and is scheduled to be pulled by a tugboat to the site sea area again on the evening of the 22nd.



Then, on the 23rd at the earliest, the hull will be lifted to the sea near the surface of the water with a wire, and on the 24th, the ship will be lifted onto the work ship.



On the other hand, the missing person was not found last on the 28th of last month, and the Japan Coast Guard Headquarters and the Self-Defense Forces continue to search the sea around the site throughout the night.
