A year ago, on May 22, 2021, the Nyiragongo volcano erupted in eastern DRC.

The lava miraculously stopped a few meters from Goma, one of the main cities of Congo.

It still devastated thousands of homes on the outskirts of this city.

After the disaster, the authorities assisted more than 4,000 households, most of whom were resettled in a camp in Kanyaruchinya.

But some claim to have been left out.

For a few months, they have been returning to settle on their old plot destroyed by the magma last year.
