"There is one thing", reveals Audrey Dana on Europe 1. "It is that the directors are sorely lacking in imagination. I heard two days ago that we cannot offer a role because I would be way too expansive to play him. I'm an actress, I play this character."

"I combined their desire and their fantasies"

It is therefore by trusting the actresses that Adurey Dana embarked on the writing of

Under the girls' skirts

.

"I wanted to create a comedy led by women because, in 2013, there was no comedy led by women. We were the wife of, the girlfriend of, etc. It was always men who were at the scene, but also the main heroes" she recalls.

"So I wanted to show that we too, women, could make people laugh. It was already a proposal that was amazing, that was offbeat."

But the first-time director's confidence in actresses didn't stop there.

Audrey Dana asked them what they wanted to play.

A film that Audrey Dana wrote, but she didn't want to direct.

"I wanted it to be Julie Delpy or Fabienne Bertaud who made it," she confides to Isabelle Morizet's microphone.

"The directors I had thought of, all told me that it's a great idea, but that they didn't have time to make it in the year. And I felt that it was time to make this movie."

Concerns lifted by a time of "end of the world"

Audrey Dana's producer then suggests that she take the camera.

An idea that she rejects, at first.

"I had never filmed in my life as a director, I did not see myself finding myself at the head of a big boat like this!", She recalls.

"And then, one day, I accepted, because I understood that the other directors would not do it and I knew that it was time. I can assure you that I did not the cleverness at the small pot of start of the shooting."

On the first day of filming, it was ultimately the weather that eased Audrey Dana's worries.

"The day we started was that weird day in 2013 when it was dark at 10 a.m., it was very dark all over Paris. People thought it was the end of the world," she smiles. .

"I thought, well, Audrey, if it's the end of the world, you can handle a shoot."

Under the girls' skirts

will be released the following year and will bring together more than 1.62 million spectators in theaters.
