  China Seismological Network determined: At 8:36 on May 20, an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred in Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province (29.67 degrees north latitude, 102.48 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 20 kilometers.

  It is understood that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Yidong Town, Hanyuan County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province. The epicenter was 36 kilometers away from Luding County, 38 kilometers away from Yingjing County, 40 kilometers away from Hanyuan County, 50 kilometers away from Shimian County, and 50 kilometers away from Tianquan County. The county is 52 kilometers away, 65 kilometers away from Kangding City, 66 kilometers away from Ya'an City, and 188 kilometers away from Chengdu City.

  After the earthquake, the Sichuan Fire Rescue Corps quickly dispatched 15 people and 3 vehicles from 3 front teams of the Ya'an Detachment to the epicenter to check the disaster.

At the same time, 60 people from the Ya'an Earthquake Rescue Team were mobilized to carry out rescue efforts at the epicenter.

Eight detachments (3 heavy earthquake rescue teams and 5 light earthquake rescue teams) including Chengdu, Leshan, Meishan, Ganzi, Liangshan, Deyang, Mianyang, and Ziyang were arranged to assemble a total of 660 people and training and maintenance detachments to stand by.
