The PS mayor of Guingamp (Côtes-d'Armor) Philippe Le Goff has decided to ban the circulation of motorized two-wheelers in the center of the city.

This regulation, which came into force on Wednesday, concerns motorcycles.

The municipal decree is effective in rue Notre-Dame and on Place du Center on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, specifies France 3 Bretagne.

Noise pollution

It was initially taken for a period of one month but it is likely to be renewed.

The mayor explained that he implemented these new regulations after receiving "complaints from residents and tourists".

The objective of the ban is indeed to limit the noise pollution generated by motorcycles.

Noise is even more disturbing for residents and passers-by in the city's pedestrian areas.

Philippe Le Goff in particular pointed out the exhaust pipes which function badly, the unbridled engines and the two-wheelers multiplying the passages in the district concerned.
