Nearly two months after opening its press freedom center in Lviv, Ukraine, the NGO Reporters Without Borders announces that it will open a second similar structure, this time in the country's capital, kyiv.

These centers aim to protect working journalists.

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is opening a second press freedom center in Ukraine.

After that of Lviv, opened last March, a new one will open in kyiv.

In these structures, the NGO RSF works for the protection of Ukrainian and international journalists, in particular by distributing helmets and bullet-proof vests, but also by training them in good journalism practices on the ground of war.

Already 180 journalists trained in the center of Lviv

“At least 180 journalists and other information actors have benefited from loans by the Center for Freedom of the Press, 40% of whom are Ukrainian nationals,” the non-governmental organization announced in a press release.

Protecting journalists protects freedom of the press.

This therefore allows the world to continue to be informed about the war in Ukraine.

In Lviv's press freedom centre, set up with the Institute for Mass Information (IMI), Ukrainian and foreign journalists can work from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with an internet connection, live streaming capability and a shelter in case of attack.
