Is spelling so important?

Objective: to enrich the language

The rules are simple, explains Charles-Henry de La Londe, president of the Voltaire Foundation, at the microphone of Europe 1: "One point for a good name, one point for a good definition and each team is timed. If the teams are tied, time will decide between them."

With participants who will play in multiplex from Ardèche, Indre-et-Loire, Morocco or Madagascar, it is therefore the whole French-speaking world which is concerned.

For the president, the ambition of the competition is to "discover new words to enrich your vocabulary. When you have the words to say it, it's a form of power".

And to emphasize that "the richer the vocabulary, the more we are capable of nuance, precision, convincing. A quest for (re) knowledge therefore, rather than gain, with a reward of 1,000 euros paid to the winning teams, i.e. 142 euros per head A sum that must be invested... in a cultural outing.
