An Egyptian court has sentenced a legal official to one year in prison for marrying a girl to a young man and his father at the same time.
According to "Akhbar Al-Youm" newspaper, the security services of the Beheira Security Directorate received a report from a girl accusing a legal officer and the father of her ex-husband, for forging an official marriage contract document without her knowledge.
The beginning of the incident was when the security services of the Buhaira Security Directorate received, on December 31, 2022, a report from a girl, residing in one of the villages of the Badr Center district, accusing a legal official and the father of her ex-wife, for forging an official marriage contract document without her knowledge.
In the record, the girl said: “My knowledge of the legal guardian began when a young man proposed to me, and after setting the date of the wedding, we went to the district official, to complete the marriage contract, and as a result, my fiancé’s father signed trust receipts to ensure the conduct of married life, because I and my fiancé did not reach the age of marriage. Legal.
She indicated that after nearly a year had passed, problems occurred with my husband and she went to the official in the area to obtain a document of the marriage contract, as it turned out that the marriage was not official, according to her, and that their customary marriage took place at this time, explaining that she had given birth to a child from her ex-husband and she did not It is proven in the birth record so far, because there is no marriage document and my husband has not reached the legal age.
The girl pointed out that the district official suggested that the marriage be concluded with the husband’s father, in order for the newborn girl to be proven in his name, and after that the divorce would take place. My daughter is in the birth records.
The Kom Hamada Misdemeanour Court ruled that the legal officer be imprisoned for one year, and that the civil case was referred to the competent court.
