On May 18, Guangdong Province supported 300 members of the Shanghai nucleic acid testing team to complete the task and returned to Guangdong smoothly. The team was also one of the last medical teams to evacuated from Shanghai.

The team came from 17 provincial (ministerial) hospitals and 19 medical institutions in 19 cities in Guangdong Province. Huang Bin, deputy director of the Medical Laboratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, served as the general leader.

The average age of the team is less than 34 years old.

Since arriving in Shanghai on April 3, more than 9.75 million tubes and 45.233 million nucleic acid sampling tests have been completed in more than 40 days, with an average of nearly 230,000 tubes being tested per day, accounting for a quarter of the total support from other provinces. The players have "zero infection".

A total of 133 people from Guangdong Province supported the Shanghai Nucleic Acid Testing Team to support the Qianmai Bomiler Medical Laboratory. By optimizing the manual operation links, the testing team accelerated the speed of testing and report review and issuance, and helped the Qianmaibomiler Medical Laboratory to continuously refresh the production capacity record. .

From 80,000 tubes per day to 200,000 tubes per day, it set a historical record on May 15, with a single-day detection volume exceeding 312,000 tubes.

Guangdong team reinforced BGI Pudong Huoyan Laboratory, and together with BGI staff, adjusted the laboratory's procedures and the number of staff on posts, and the detection speed was increased from nearly 4,200 tubes per hour to 5,500 tubes per hour.

In order to improve the detection speed, the team members gave up the automatic sample addition of the instrument and adopted a more laborious but faster manual method.

They are next to the biological safety cabinet, and they operate on an assembly line. The sample tubes are unscrewed and then tightened, and they are hand-held pipettes to sample and add samples. Every time they rotate and press, they can't make mistakes.

This kind of action, repeated more than 1,000 times an hour, has worn out calluses on the hands, and has also undergone a great test of physical strength and endurance.

Some team members twisted the nucleic acid sample cover until their hands were swollen and weak, and their wrists were torn by the gloves. The weather was getting hotter and the protective clothing was full of sweat, but they continued to work as usual.

Some team members fought night shifts in a row, their teeth were swollen and inflamed for days, and they immediately went into battle after tooth extraction.

"Concentrate on and not miss a yang." Huang Bin proposed that the nucleic acid testing team should adopt a dual-leader responsibility system and a quality supervision system to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results. "False positives and false negatives will add chaos to epidemic prevention and control."

In order to better protect the physical and mental health of the team members, the team also carried out a variety of activities, such as opening a FireWire barber shop, the team members helped each other with haircuts, and also helped the hotel staff and drivers with haircuts; held "cloud birthday parties" for team members; organized team members to dance "Anti-epidemic exercises" exercise, organize professional psychological team building activities, etc.
