On May 18, under the escort of Haixun 0677 boat of Jiangyin Maritime Safety Administration, the first guide rope of Jiangsu Fengcheng-Meili 500 kV power transmission and transformation project completed the docking across the north and south of the Yangtze River, marking the successful completion of the first water construction of the project.

This project is the largest and most technically difficult cross-river networked power transmission and transformation project in the history of my country's power construction.

According to reports, this project spans the Jiangyin section of the Yangtze River, Jiangsu, and the span across the river is 2,550 meters. In addition to the influence of factors such as navigation height and safety distance, the height of the spanning tower reaches 385 meters, which is the highest in the world.

The construction water area is located in the diamond navigation area of the Yangtze River shipping golden waterway. The average daily flow of ships in the section is about 2,000. The river flow is fast, and there are many undercurrent vortices. In May and June, local strong convective weather frequently occurs, which has a great impact on construction operations. Construction work is difficult.

Efficient management and control of navigable and ship flow in the waters is a prerequisite for the smooth development of the project. The construction operation requires a total of 8 river closures to complete.

During the wireline operation, the Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration organized temporary traffic control on the entire water area from Nanjing to Liuhekou.

Eight sea patrol boats and more than 40 staff members were assigned to conduct on-site command, guidance, alert and interception, and fully ensure the safety of engineering construction and ship navigation.
