A customer service demonstration experiment in which a robot guides recommended souvenirs while moving around the store has begun in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture.
This demonstration experiment was conducted by a tourism corporation, etc., which is created in 1 city and 4 towns such as Chichibu City, in an attempt to convey the charm of the area by utilizing robots.
At the entrance of the store that sells souvenirs and other items adjacent to Chichibu Station on the Chichibu Railway, a robot with a height of approximately 1 meter and 40 centimeters stands by, and when you touch the screen, you will be greeted with "Hello" and customer service will begin.
Three customer service menus are displayed on the screen, and if you select "Guided Tour", the robot will guide you to the recommended products.
There is also a menu that displays souvenir rankings and foods that go well with alcohol on the screen and introduces them, which was used by visitors.
A woman in her twenties who used it said, "It is sometimes difficult to talk to the clerk because of the Korona-ka, so I am grateful that the robot will guide me if I operate it with the touch panel."
Mariko Takashima of the Chichibu Regional Hospitality Tourism Corporation, who conducted the demonstration experiment, said, "We want our customers to enjoy operating the robots and promote hidden specialties to contribute to sales."
The demonstration experiment will be conducted for half a year.
