Russia withdraws from the Council of the Baltic Sea States.

As stated in the statement of the Foreign Ministry, "the states of NATO and the European Union as part of the CBSS have abandoned equal dialogue and the principles on which this regional structure in the Baltic was created, and are consistently turning it into an instrument of anti-Russian policy."

The West behaves equally impudently everywhere - and in this case, as in the situation with membership in the Council of Europe, it was not without theft, which is separately noted in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry: “Western countries - let's call a spade a spade - have monopolized the council in their opportunistic purposes, are making plans to organize its work to the detriment of Russian interests.

Extra-regional problems are projected onto the Baltic, pressure is put on those interested in continuing full-fledged cooperation, and the entire array of achievements gained in recent years and stability in the region are put under attack.

A ministerial session of the council is scheduled for May 25, 2022 in the city of Kristiansand (Norway) without the participation of Russia.

In fact, our contribution to the CBSS budget has been stolen - they are not going to return it with reference to the sanctions.”

So there is nothing strange in the fact that Moscow refuses to work in such a format: “The prospect of restoring normal work in the council, which is increasingly mired in Russophobia and lies, is not visible under these conditions.

We consider our country's further presence in the CBSS to be inexpedient and counterproductive.

Russia will not participate in turning the organization into another platform for subversive activities and "Western narcissism," the Russian Foreign Ministry officially declares.

I believe that in this case, the main question is not why we are now leaving this "council of the wicked", but why we have been in it until now, paid dues, and so on.

Well, okay, in this case, you can't change the past.

But we urgently, immediately, right now need to reconsider participation in all such councils, assemblies and other supranational bodies created by the West, which we joined earlier for some reason.

More precisely, it is clear why they joined: in the 1990s and early 2000s, many had illusions that the West was ready for equal cooperation and mutually beneficial relations.

But the further - the less these illusions were.

The response to Vladimir Putin's Munich speech, in which our President outlined Russia's concern about the global security situation, was the attack on Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008.

08.08.08 - our enemies have always loved symbolic beautiful dates.

Now it seems that our victory was inevitable, but then both the murderous President Saakashvili and those who stood behind him were sure that Russia would wipe out and reconcile.

Their subsequent hysteria is explained by the fact that they could not imagine what we would answer - and we would answer in such a way that it would not seem a little to anyone.

And the fact that Georgia is now acting from a pragmatic position is largely the result of that operation to enforce peace.

The Baltic Sea is a strategically important region for Russia.

On the shores of the Baltic is our cultural capital and the second largest city in the country, St. Petersburg.

Through the Baltic Sea there is communication with the Kaliningrad region, and not only by sea, but also by air, after the Baltic countries closed their skies to us.

But the more heart-rendingly Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania squeal, calling for more and more NATO contingents, the more actively previously neutral Sweden and Finland run towards the alliance, the less reasons and reasons Russia has for direct communication with them.

Using the example of Ukraine, we perfectly understood the senselessness of talking with servants.

You need to talk to the owners.

When the Baltic ministers proudly proclaim that the Baltic Sea will be a "NATO lake", they are giving up their own sovereignty.

This means that we are no longer interested in their opinion in principle.

Let's talk to Washington.

And since Washington understands only the language of force, the risks for the Baltic countries in such a situation increase by an order of magnitude.

Because in the event of a conflict, the first blow will be struck precisely on their territories.

And whether the United States will want to risk its own well-being in this difficult situation is a very big question.

Russia is an important subject of world politics, and from now on they are objects, moreover, located on the enemy side.

And the fate of objects in international conflicts is extremely sad and unenviable - they are used, exchanged and sacrificed.

Well, we are not to blame for the fact that the Finns remember their own history so poorly, the Swedes are tired of two centuries of peaceful life and want adventures, and Russophobia has long replaced common sense in the Baltic republics.

For all the countries of the Baltic Sea, conflicts with Russia have previously ended, at best, in defeat, and at worst, in loss of independence.

And they can dream about revenge as much as they want - nothing will work out for them.
