This month, Koga City installed sanitary boxes to dispose of incontinence pads in 50 private rooms of men's toilets in public facilities such as the city hall and libraries.

According to urinary specialists, many people use a urine leak pad after surgery for prostate cancer, and by installing a sanitary box in a private room, it will be possible to handle it on the go without worrying about the eyes. Is expected.

Tomoo Shibata, director of the Health and Welfare Department in Koga City, said, "I want to aim for a public facility that is easy for everyone to use."

Regarding Koga City's efforts, Seiji Naito, the former president of the Japanese Urological Association and Honorary Director of Hara Sanshin Hospital, said, "At present, there are almost no sanitary boxes in men's toilets, so it would be interesting if the government took the lead.
