The magic of nature prompted the Emirati photographer, Mohammed Al Jabri, to specialize in photographing distinctive sites around the world, and traveled thousands of miles to reach them, eager to explore their uniqueness, and then monitor their details and transmit them through his lens to photography lovers.

Al-Jabri has been attached to this passion since the beginning of 2009, to devote all his time and attention to him, and for many years he has been involved in his multiple experiences through research, diligence and travel between different regions around the world, to satisfy his endless love in this field, and his renewed ambition to capture the most beautiful scenes and develop his tools in order to spread this hobby On a large scale among the people of the Emirates, in light of the continuous support and motivation witnessed by photography, and specifically landscapes, according to his opinion, represented by Al Jabri winning the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, in addition to his participation in many specialized international exhibitions that crowned him. The artist made unremitting efforts in this field.

At the beginning of his dialogue with "Emirates Today", the Emirati nature photographer, who sees that there is a promising generation of Emirati photographers, stopped on his first foreign trips to take pictures of unique landscapes, most notably his 2011 travel to New Zealand, and then to Iceland to photograph the aurora borealis, describing the trip that She was not without burdens by saying: “It was an exceptional experience in the true sense of the word, whether in terms of the preparation that took place in an integrated manner or the multiple and long trip stations in which I moved at that time between different regions, traversing distances that sometimes exceeded 20 km on foot in very harsh climatic conditions, at the time. who sat waiting for the decisive moment for long hours, sometimes exceeding seven hours in cold weather.”

Experiences and challenges

On the challenges of the road and the conditions for excellence in this field, Al-Jabri explained: “In order for the photographer to be successful in such difficult circumstances, he must make double efforts, and adopt the appropriate (technique) every time, to capture the most appropriate images from certain angles through which he can, and at a stage Later, control the level of light or color correction to obtain the desired results.

Regarding the specifications of the professional photographer and the challenges of the field, he indicated that he was influenced by a number of pioneers of the school of landscape photography, local and international, in addition to his long work on his knowledge in the field and his strenuous efforts to develop his techniques, which he started by joining a number of special training courses and workshops with Emirati photographer Abdulaziz bin Ali, who Al-Jabri accompanied him in one of his training workshops in New Zealand, and then joined a special training course years ago in Dubai for the famous American photographer Mark Adams, who is considered one of the best nature photographers in the world.

Al-Jabri continued: "It is necessary to have contact with these great experiences in the field of landscape photography, and not to be satisfied with theoretical lessons spread on digital spaces, especially on YouTube."

On his ambition in the field, Al Jabri revealed his intention to support the creative scene in the Emirates, and promote new experiences in this field, by organizing many external workshops and presenting his experience in the framework, adding: “I always prefer to hold specialized technical workshops in the actual shooting locations, given that they contribute significantly to the field. I am better at focusing on accurate technologies and supporting the experiences gained directly on the scene.” He pointed out that the UAE contains a promising generation of successful names and promising talents in the field of “landscape” photography.

He said, "We have a promising generation of young photographers in the UAE, along with many important names on the local scene, but the weather conditions require us to enjoy the hobby of photography for a period not exceeding four months only throughout the year."

Al-Jabri's aspirations are not limited to his success in capturing the most beautiful manifestations of nature and its charming combination of colors in the Northern Lights region, but also goes beyond it to reach several regions around the world.

He continued: “There are many distinguished global destinations that can be captured through the lens and embodied in very wonderful creative works, but the matter always requires full-time, and this is always left to the opportunities given my professional circumstances and my association with the requirements of government work, which forces me to constantly practice these Hobby on weekends or annual holidays.

Muhammad Al-Jabri confirmed that despite reaching an advanced stage in the field of photography, he still considers himself an amateur and keen on continuous learning, indicating that his ambition is great in order to improve his experience and raise the name of the UAE high in international exhibitions.

He added, "I am proud of my extensive participation in this field inside and outside the country, but I am not as focused on winning awards as I am on developing my skills and introducing the new generation of Emirati creators."
