Much of Martinique received in April 2022 only half the amount of rain that usually falls on the territory at this time of year.
This was shown by the data measured and communicated by the local branch of Météo-France, relayed by La Première.
The worrying water deficit is particularly glaring in some towns on the island.
The exception that confirms the rule
The monthly rainfall observed in Lamentin (Martinique) was for example 49 mm last month, against 106 mm falling normally in April.
Only 38% of the expected water fell in Vauclin (Martinique).
The La Donis measuring station (Martinique) is the only one to get away with figures comparable to those of previous years.
Météo-France Martinique also noted a very slight increase in average temperatures recorded on the territory in April.
This increase of 0.2° was accompanied by a drop in sunshine of three hours over the period.
