His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the allocation of 2.5 million dirhams to provide Sharjah libraries with the latest versions of Arabic and foreign books displayed at the 13th Sharjah Children's Reading Festival.
His Highness’s initiative stems from his efforts to support the book, its makers and readers, and in order to enrich Sharjah’s libraries with the latest publications that enrich their content, and contribute to providing readers, including researchers, academics, students and those interested in knowledge, with the latest publications of the publishing houses participating in the festival, in all sectors related to the world of childhood and its sources of knowledge. In order to achieve the mission of Sharjah Libraries to be a cultural center incubating students of knowledge, providing them with everything that develops their perceptions and enriches their intellectual stock.
On the initiative, Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said: “Every year, Sharjah libraries receive from His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah an honorable support and enrichment for their content of Arab and foreign publications, which represent a good planting through which they increase their brilliance, to produce cultural products that are reflected on their patrons, It contributes to the formation of the cultural and civilizational painting that the emirate adopts to be a source of intellectual and cognitive radiation that builds generations with books, and opens up the horizons of a bright future for them by reading.”

More than 139 publishing houses from 15 Arab and foreign countries are participating in the 13th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, which was recently inaugurated by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and more than 1900 diverse activities are organized. .
