The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism announced today (17th) that it will hold a ceremony for the completion of the Daeungbojeon Hall of Bunhwangsa Temple in Buda Gaya, Bihar State, northeastern India, at 9 am local time on the 21st.

The completion ceremony was attended by over 150 people, including Buddhists and major leaders of the church, including Wonhaeng, the head of the Jogye Order, Jeong Moon, the head of the church meeting, Jung Woos, the head of the overseas diocese, Bonkak, the head of the national nuns, and the head of each parish headquarters.

Bunhwangsa Temple will have a traditional Korean-style Daeungjeon, a training center where monks and Buddhists can make a pilgrimage, and a health center for local residents.

Buda Gaya Bunhwangsa Temple, India, started in 2019 with the purpose of contributing to the globalization of Korean Buddhism by establishing a Korean temple in Buda Gaya, the holy place of the Buddha, as the first result of the 'One Million Won Immortality Project', which has been focused on by the executive branch of the 36th general of the Jogye Order. became visible.

However, as the corona crisis prolonged, the completion of Bunhwangsa Temple seemed to be delayed without a promise, but the Jogye Order said that the completion ceremony was held without great qualifications thanks to Budapalas, the local head of Mulasanga in India, who worked hard to complete Daeungbojeon.

During their visit to India, which lasts until the 23rd, Buddhist monk Wonhaeng and others plan to make a pilgrimage to Sarnath, the place where Buddha preached the Dharma for the first time after enlightenment.
