She completed her graduation defense in the rescue car

Recently, the story of Wang Ruoqi, a young man from Qingdao, who completed his college graduation defense on the rescue vehicle in Shanghai, aroused the attention of netizens.

Wang Ruoqi is a member of the Qingdao Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team.

During the epidemic in Shanghai, she signed up to support Shanghai's fight against the epidemic without telling her parents.

Coincidentally, the day she set off from Qingdao to Shanghai happened to be the day of her university graduation defense.

At such a critical point, Wang Ruoqi completed this special defense in the rescue vehicle, dressed in the Qingdao Red Cross uniform.

After arriving in Shanghai, Wang Ruoqi became a "war correspondent", and she also handed over her first answer sheet when she entered the society from university.

Wang Ruoqi's deeds touched many people. Alibaba Tiantian Positive Energy and Qilu Evening News Qilu Yidian awarded Wang Ruoqi the title of "Outstanding Anti-epidemic Young Volunteer" in 2022 and a positive energy bonus of 5,000 yuan.

Why did Wang Ruoqi insist on going to Shanghai as a volunteer?

She shared her mental journey with reporters.

The following is Wang Ruoqi's self-report.

special graduation defense

Unexpectedly, my college graduation defense will be completed in such a way.

I am an authentic Qingdao Xiaoman, born in Laixi, Qingdao in 1996.

In 2015, I was admitted to Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in radio and television editing and directing.

Because I still have a dream of becoming a soldier in my heart, in September 2016, I signed up for the army from the university and joined the Shanghai Armed Police Corps.

I joined the Qingdao Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team in 2019, hoping that the skills I acquired when I was a soldier can be used in volunteer work.

On April 22, 2022, I learned that I could help Shanghai to fight the epidemic together. As a member of the Qingdao Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team, I signed up.

It can be said that Shanghai is my second hometown.

This is also the reason why I aided Shanghai to fight the epidemic this time.

As required, on April 23, the Shanghai aid team set off from Qingdao to Shanghai.

But by coincidence, this day conflicts with the date of my college graduation defense.

After learning the news, I contacted the teachers of the college as soon as possible at noon on the 22nd, explained my situation, and shared my own thoughts.

The school was very supportive and arranged for me the opportunity to defend alone.

At 9 am on April 23, I went to Shanghai with the vehicle of the Qingdao Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team.

When passing through the Xiangshui service area, the captain informed me to stop, and my teammates got off and waited so as not to disturb me.

I was in the rescue vehicle, dressed in the Qingdao Red Cross uniform, and used a computer to conduct my defense, which lasted about an hour and a half.

Because I had prepared enough in the early stage, I was not nervous during the defense.

My graduation thesis defense went very smoothly, and supporting Shanghai at such a time is also a special answer sheet that I will hand over as a student about to enter the society.

like "war correspondent"

I studied radio and television directing at university because I once had a dream of directing.

But this time, I held up the camera and recorded the experience of the 16-day aid in Shanghai, which I will never forget.

At about 9:30 pm on April 23, our team of 28 people arrived in Shanghai.

This time, we are "moving" support.

In order not to increase the burden on the local area, we brought quilts, food and other materials from Qingdao.

Early the next morning, we started work.

We have formed the Chinese Red Cross (Shandong) Anti-epidemic Disinfection Volunteer Service Team. The work area is in Beicai Town, Pudong New Area. It is mainly responsible for the terminal disinfection after the positive patients are transferred away, and the community preventive disinfection.

We set off at seven o'clock in the morning and were busy until five or six o'clock in the afternoon.

We wear protective clothing and carry dozens of kilograms of disinfecting machines to do the disinfecting work.

My job is of a different nature, and I use the camera to record these experiences, and I feel like a "war correspondent".

During this period, there were many moments that were deeply touched.

The weather in Shanghai is relatively hot, and our protective clothing is often soaked in sweat when we climb stairs.

In fact, this time I came to Shanghai to support, I did not hide it from my parents and didn't want them to worry.

But then my parents found out.

They understand my character, and I will definitely go to such a critical moment.

Although these 16 days were hard work, I was able to leave the moments of everyone's dedication. I think it is very meaningful, and I also have a more mature understanding of responsibility and responsibility.

I want to have no regrets

During the three years as a member of the Qingdao Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team, I have undertaken many missions, such as the rescue of the Qingdao volcano and the search and rescue of people on the mountain.

Some time ago, a mountain fire broke out in Sanbiao Mountain in Qingdao, and we continued to do rescue work on the mountain for several days.

Earlier, during the epidemic in Laixi, Qingdao, I also stood up.

We stayed in Lacey for 5 days, doing docking work, logistical support and material transfer.

There is a time conflict between volunteering and daily life, and there is a trade-off.

The reason why I have participated in so many volunteer work is related to my experience in the military.

When I was in the Armed Police Force, I was awarded twice as an "Excellent Volunteer" and once as a "Love Police, Learn Martial Arts and Good Soldier".

For me, honor is more of an incentive to keep my fighting spirit and blood on the road.

On May 9, we completed our mission and returned to Qingdao from Shanghai.

I am now in hotel quarantine and waiting to go home.

I still have a different feeling when I rearrange my shooting content.

I want to be a qualified college student, soldier, youth.

I hope to do something meaningful and have no regrets in the future.
