It was by a large margin that pre-tipped and the viewer favorite Kalush Orchestra won this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

But after Saturday's final, several Russian media have sharply criticized the competition and the organizers.

The reason is that the lead singer Oleh Psiuk in the Kalush Orchestra, after performing the winning entry, should have called on the audience to show their support for Ukraine.

- I ask you all to help Mariupol in Ukraine.

Help Azovstal now, Oleh Psiuk said immediately after Saturday's win.

The statement has provoked strong reactions in Russia and several state-controlled media in the country believe that the contribution should have been washed away by the organizers of their political message.

Several media outlets also claim that Ukraine was not a worthy winner.
