Having agreed to become the military-political six of the West in its struggle against Russia, the Kyiv regime is now forced to live up to its unenviable role.

Demonstrate at least some "success" so that they are not removed from allowance.

And since there are none in the main - Donbass - direction, we have to invent something like that in secondary areas.

Over the weekend, the details of an unsuccessful attempt to seize Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea by the Armed Forces of Ukraine became known.

Video footage of the liquidated saboteurs (wind noise, and not useful Javelins lying nearby) was published by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

A bitter story for Kyiv.

And the swing was serious.

It is felt that the organizers desperately needed a result.

For this, several attacking waves were originally planned at once.

If it doesn’t work the first time, we try again and again... The assault on the island began on the evening of May 7 after a long reconnaissance of Serpentine from Ukrainian drones.

As it got dark, three Ukrainian Su-24 bombers, covered by a Su-27 fighter, bombed the island.

I remember that a spectacular video soon appeared on the network to some terribly romantic song in Ukrainian.

Like, this is how we smash the enemy for the glory of the Square.

As it turned out later, they hurried to brag.

Aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force flew up at extremely low altitude.

So low that the wingman seemed to be in the kill zone after the leader bombed.

One way or another, they did not return home - they were destroyed by the duty aviation of the Black Sea Fleet.

In the meantime, our aviation dealt with the enemy, 24 fighters (two dozen!) of the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense landed on Zmeiny from three armored assault boats of the Centaur project.

The Russian military defending the island managed to sink all three ships, cutting off the escape route for the saboteurs.

Then they were pressed to the water and destroyed.

The failure of the operation did not embarrass its organizers.

The very next day, May 8, a second attempt was made to storm the island.

This time, Mi-8 military transport helicopters were involved under cover.

The combat mood of the attack aircraft after the failure of the previous day, apparently, was unimportant.

Who wants to climb into the thick of things with obscure goals?

Colonel Igor Bedzai, head of the Naval Aviation Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, had to personally lead a group of suicide bombers.

It became fatal for him.

When approaching the island, the entire helicopter group was destroyed by Russian fighters.

The saboteurs died without feeling the cherished firmament under their feet.

Our military did not wait for the third attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and preemptively attacked the enemy forces.

Another six landing helicopters, which were in full combat readiness at a military airfield near Artsyz, Odessa region, were destroyed by high-precision air-based missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The total losses of the enemy over the two days of the operation, in addition to the listed flight equipment, include up to 30 UAVs and more than 50 personnel.

Summarizing this story, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense called the attempt to capture Zmeiny "a thoughtless PR action of the Kyiv regime."

Reasonably.

Russian professionals see the operation as pointless.

After all, having occupied Serpentine at the very beginning of the special operation, our military took all the necessary measures to protect it.

Only those who skipped lectures while studying at the academy can beat their heads against the wall in such a situation.

By the way, a similar opinion was shared by the General Staff of Ukraine, which objected to the adventure.

Honest campaigners could not understand why they would lay down their people for the sake of a foothold, which, even with luck, could not be held.

According to some reports, the development of the operation had to be entrusted to the British.

Is there no faith in your military in Kyiv?

And here the purely military part of this story merges with the political one.

It is clear that the attacks were planned for May 7, 8 and, probably, May 9, not just like that, but with the intention of inflicting some symbolic damage on Russia on the holy day of the civil religion of Victory for most Russians.

In addition, revenge would allow Kyiv to at least a little make amends for the incident that happened during the capture of Serpentine by Russian forces.

Then part of the Ukrainian garrison was declared dead in an unequal battle with the Russians, they were pompously awarded the title of heroes of Ukraine, but later it turned out that they were all alive and well and were in captivity.

Someone in Kyiv powerfully sat in a puddle.

Also, the hypothetical capture of Serpentine by the Armed Forces of Ukraine would help at least for some time to divert the attention of Ukrainians from the nationalists hopelessly locked up at Azovstal, some of whom, according to the commander of the Vostok battalion Alexander Khodakovsky, have already begun to surrender - they come out with a white flag .

Serpentine would also have covered up military failures in the Donbass, would have given a reason to the Western patrons of the Kyiv regime, the same Boris Johnson, who just spoke on the Ukrainian issue, to show off imaginary successes, strengthening their own position.

A symbiosis of political toads and vipers.

But it didn't.

And now it obviously won't work.

The Russian military, miraculous heroes who repulsed the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as if in mockery, drew a huge letter Z on the island, which became a symbol of the special operation.

So big that it can be seen on satellite images of the Serpentine.

A kind of autograph ... The island of Russia itself will still come in handy.

From this strategically important point, it is convenient to control the northwestern part of the Black Sea area, where ships are now scurrying around, taking out the last grain stocks from Ukraine, as well as the airspace over the southwestern regions of Ukraine, Transnistria, the territory of Romania and Moldova for enemy aircraft flights.
