In Chambéry (Savoie), the sheep and goats of a local breeder have taken possession of the gardens of the two accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (Ehpad), Césalet Dessous and Césalet Dessus.

The objective is to set up eco-grazing that uses animals, such as sheep, to clear brush and mow outdoor spaces, explains

.

The animals are expected to stay there for almost a month.

This method has the advantage of not making noise, generating no pollution and having no impact on the local flora and fauna.

The process was started by the Savoie Metropolitan Hospital Center (CHMS).

A distraction for residents

The establishment has signed a partnership agreement with the breeder.

The latter also offered residents of the Ehpad free of charge an animation around the shearing of animal wool this Thursday.

About thirty elderly people had the joy of watching the shearing of a young four-year-old ram.
