The news of the election of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE came to confirm the smooth transition of power from the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, may his soul rest in peace, to Khair Khalaf, a news that carries great optimism for the future.
News confirms the stability that this country has been blessed with from God Almighty at a time when the world has become full of turmoil.
The Emirates, since its founding in 1971, is an oasis of safety, and the people are faithful, confident and united around their leadership through thick and thin.
The third president of our beloved country firmly believes in the importance of the union, and he faithfully carries the flag of Zayed and his legacy.
We knew his metal in crises when he said, "Do not Chill them," and he succeeded in managing the crisis and got us out of it without significant losses, and the low numbers testify to that.
Mohamed bin Zayed will complete the country's march with the same strength and momentum, and we fully believe that he is the extension of Zayed and the successor of goodness, may God have mercy on them.
We are opening a new page in the history of the country, the page of Mohammed bin Zayed, one of the most influential world leaders. His accession to the presidency is a natural culmination of his gradation in the positions he occupied in the past years. He is the architect of modernity in our beloved capital and the creator of political, military and even economic and social transformations.
It is the mind that elevated the UAE to a regional military force to be reckoned with a thousand accounts, and it is the force that contributes, works, and ensures the spread of peace and the establishment of security and stability not only within the homeland, but also in the region and the world.
There is no exaggeration in the words, as the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) testifies to this when it cited our army as an example of the strong armies in the region, and praised its performance on more than one occasion.
He is the mind who led the process of diversifying the economy in Abu Dhabi, and this is due to his far-sightedness and vision inspired by his father, Sheikh Zayed, may God rest his soul.
Not only that, but he was also inspired by wisdom, humility and steadfastness in crises.
We knew Mohammed bin Zayed as a leader from the beginnings of the last decade, a hawk who watched over the security of the state and even the security of neighboring countries. We knew him as brave and bold in taking the appropriate decision.
We knew him as a seasoned politician who played an important role in ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The UAE was one of the signatories to the Abrahamic agreements to end wars in the region, renounce past differences, and launch a new phase of cooperation between the countries of the region.
This is a lesson in political realism, far from ideals that brought nothing but sabotage and destruction.
We shall never forget his vision aimed at adopting the values of tolerance and rejecting intolerance. No one denies that the state has become a global symbol of tolerance.
Mohammed bin Zayed's vision of tolerance and harmony among all segments of society has proven its effectiveness in consolidating societal peace.
Sir, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, we made you a leader, and we pledged allegiance to you as the President of the UAE to listen and obey in hardship, ease, tonic and reluctance.
We ask God Almighty to keep you healthy and well, to guide you, to direct your steps, and to assist you in all that is good.
