[Explanation] People are often full of curiosity and fantasies about the work of archaeologists, scraping the soil layer with a shovel, brushing the dust on the surface of the utensils... These work content belongs to the category of archaeological excavations, however, can " The archaeological work of "talking" to the ancestors, finding the truth of history, and exploring the mystery of the years is not only excavation, but a complete, systematic and scientific system, including archaeological cartographers, cultural relic restorers, rubbings and other types of work, although It is relatively "unpopular", but it is an indispensable and important part of archaeological work.

Recently, in the archaeological drawing room of the Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, archaeological draftsman Li Fuxiu was picking up a triangular board to measure the size of the utensils carefully. Then, she began to skillfully draw the outer frame and decoration of the utensils on the graph paper with a pencil. Draw a "standard photo" of the object.

Li Fuxiu has been engaged in archaeological drawing for 29 years. He has participated in the archaeological drawing of Baodun Site, Mangcheng Site, Jinsha Site and other famous sites that have been selected as "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China".

She also felt a great sense of accomplishment along with the carefully drawn line drawings, as well as the publication of excavation reports and academic papers.

I must be very comfortable, because you have provided convenience for others, and this (archaeological) drawing itself serves this archaeological research.

[Explanation] Archaeological drawing requires on-the-spot surveys, careful observation, professional tools, and drawing techniques to record the size and shape of relics and relics in detail, as well as clearly depict the structure and cultural characteristics of relics and relics. It is both precise and standardized. Also have an artistic sense.

This work runs through the whole process of archaeological excavation. Even today with the highly developed photography technology, the structure and details of some relics and relics still need to be accurately displayed by hand-drawing.

Li Fuxiu worked at the Jinsha site archaeological site for 8 years, which was an unforgettable period in her drawing career.

Major discoveries are constantly emerging, and excavations are in full swing. She needs to draw accurate site maps in a very short period of time. She has drawn more than 1,000 maps in the sacrificial area of Jinsha site alone.

In the past 8 years, she participated in the mapping of the remains and relics of more than 40 excavation sites at Jinsha Site.

When I was in Jinsha (the archaeological site of the ruins), everything I encountered was new, the same every day, and everything I faced every day was brand new.

I just thought I had finished the painting so that others could understand it, and then I really wanted to be worthy of this artifact and history.

[Explanation] Today, in his spare time, Li Fuxiu has brought more than 10 students.

Li Fuxiu said that the unearthed artifacts were originally inanimate objects, but through archaeological drawings coupled with textual materials and photos, they could make them "speak".

It's an utensil placed here, it's like a very dead thing, if you draw it, and then add data, photos, and the drawing, it will be able to speak after it is sent out. It's just talking, you know what it is.

If you don't draw, a photo, it's just (only) the words that say it doesn't seem so intuitive.

[Explanation] If the archaeological drafter is to draw "standard photos" of cultural relics, then the cultural relic restorer can help the damaged cultural relics return to the "peak value", and the rubbing artist is also to not miss any historical details.

But no matter what type of work, for archaeologists, the value of cultural relics not only depends on the cultural relic itself, but also depends on the history and culture it carries.

The purpose of archaeology is not just to dig out cultural relics, but to "let history speak and cultural relics speak".
