On the morning of the 14th, a cargo ship sailing off the coast of Nojimasaki in Chiba Prefecture tilted and then ran aground.


All five crew members were rescued, but three of them were injured, including bruising.

Around 3:30 am on the 14th, the captain of the cargo ship "Meisen 2" sailing off Nojimasaki in Chiba Prefecture said, "The container is about to collapse and the hull is about to tilt and overturn." There was a 118th call to the 3rd Regional Coast Guard Headquarters.



According to the Yokosuka Coast Guard, there are five male crew members in their 20s and 70s on board the cargo ship, all of whom were rescued and there is no difference in their lives, but three of them were injured, such as bruising their hips. It means that you are receiving medical treatment at the hospital.



The cargo ship is registered in Kagawa prefecture, 72.49 meters long, 499 tons, and departed from Hitachi Naka port in Ibaraki prefecture and headed for the port in Oita prefecture.



According to the Maritime Security Department, the cargo ship tilted after the container collapsed, and then ran aground about 300 meters from Nemoto Port in Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture, shortly after noon.



At this point, the hull has not been damaged and no oil has leaked.



The cargo ship was tilted at sea about 13.5 kilometers from Nojimasaki Lighthouse, and according to the Choshi Local Meteorological Observatory, strong wind / wave warnings and heavy rain / lightning / flood warnings were issued near the site at that time.
