Egypt .. The closure of a hospital that caused the death of "Marina Salah" due to negligence

The Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Acting Minister of Health and Population, revealed the issuance of an administrative decision to close a private eye hospital, which caused the death of a citizen.

This came in his comment on the briefing requests, urgent statements, and questions addressed to him by members of the Egyptian House of Representatives, during the plenary session, headed by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali.

The minister said: "We waited to follow up on the crisis until dawn, and a higher committee was formed to follow up on the case, saying: An administrative decision was issued to close the hospital, after the committee finished its work."

The Acting Minister of Health stressed that there is strict oversight of all hospitals, saying: All measures are taken and those responsible are held accountable, especially since the Ministry has judicial control in dealing with violations.

The plenary session of the House of Representatives, in which the Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, participated, discussed the crisis of Marina Salah’s death while conducting examinations in a private eye hospital in Cairo.

Representative Abanob Ezzat called for the necessity of revealing the circumstances and causes of death, especially in the absence of oversight over private hospitals. Representative Ahmed Khalil Khairallah, head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Salafi Al-Nour Party, criticized the death of Marina Salah in a private eye hospital because of the dye dose.

Khairallah stressed that the entire health system needs a comprehensive review, noting that the death of the victim as a result of a medical error, leaving a child no more than two years old represents a major crisis that requires standing in front of it.
