On the night before Tuesday, Swedish time, the historic first American Song Contest was decided on American NBC, based on the Eurovision Song Contest.

The winner was Alexa from Oklahoma with "Wonderland", followed by Riker Lynch (Colorado) with "Feel the love" and Jordan Smith (Kentucky) with "Sparrow".

The jury's favorite, Washington's Allen Stone with "A bit of both", did not appeal to the audience as much and finished fifth.

Alexa, 25, was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and her real name is Alexandra Schneiderman.

She has lived in Seoul, South Korea in recent years where she has pursued a K-pop career.

A total of ten artists from nine states and American Samoa were on stage in the final of the show where the Swedish quartet Anders Lenhoff, Christer Björkman, Peter Settman and Ola Melzig are the producers, along with Ben Silverman, Howard T Owens and Gregory Lipstone.

The competition has been broadcast for eight weeks, and a total of competitors from 50 states, five territories and the capital district have participated.

The program was led by rapper Snoop Dogg and singer Kelly Clarkson.

The question is whether Alexa will be both the first and last winner in the American Song Contest, as the program has been drawn with weak viewership figures.
