At 6:00 on May 9, local time, voting for the 2022 general election in the Philippines officially began.

  Voting starts at 6:00 and ends at 19:00.

  More than 67.4 million voters registered in this general election, of which 65.8 million voted in the Philippines.

The election will elect a new president, vice president, members of Congress, local administrators and members of parliament for a total of more than 18,000 positions.

  The latest polls show that in the presidential election, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the son of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, is the most popular candidate, with a significant lead over incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo, Manila Mayor Francisco Candidates like Moreno Domagoso and Manny Pacquiao.

  Davao Mayor Sarah Duterte-Carpio, the eldest daughter of current Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, is Marcos Jr.'s running mate and will run for the vice-president position.

She also showed a huge advantage in the polls.
