The town may have used the electoral list of the town, which was illegally copied and taken out by the mayor of Manazuru Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, for his election. In response, he announced a policy to file criminal charges.

Mayor Kazuhiko Matsumoto of Manazuru Town resigned in November last year because he was an employee of the town and took out an illegal copy of the electoral list and used it for his own elections. I won the election again.



As a result of investigating this issue, a third-party committee set up by the town asked the town to criminal accusate the mayor last month, saying that the mayor's actions were theft and violation of the Public Offices Election Act.



In response to this, Mayor Matsumoto announced a comment on the 9th, stating, "We will file criminal accusations and claims for damages against the parties in accordance with the report of the third-party committee."



In the future, the mayor will proceed with procedures such as criminal accusation himself as a representative of the town while consulting with a lawyer.
