Mayor Tagami of Nagasaki City has announced that he will visit the site to attend the first Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Vienna next month.

The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which completely bans nuclear weapons, is scheduled to be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, from the 21st of next month for the first time of the Conference of the Parties.



Regarding this, Mayor Tagami of Nagasaki City stated at a meeting of the city council on the 9th that he would like to attend as a representative of the bombed areas and call for action toward the realization of a world free of nuclear weapons.



Mayor Taue is considering attending the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and the International Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons, and intends to emphasize the importance of the abolition of nuclear weapons as the mayor of the A-bombed areas.



Mayor Taue said, "This is the first step to make the ban on nuclear weapons a rule of the world, and I want to convey the thoughts of the bombed areas. I hope it will be a place to strengthen the fact that it should not be used as an international public opinion. "
