A highly symbolic day on May 9 in the midst of the war in Ukraine.
A day which is both Europe's Day, but which is also the date chosen by Vladimir Putin to mark the victory of Soviet troops over the Nazis in 1945. In Berlin, a city scarred by this conflict, the Russian community celebrates May 9 every year.
And the Treptower memorial is the monument of this commemoration.
In Berlin, Deborah Berlioz.

For the Russian president, the use of this great patriotic war for political purposes is more topical than ever.
But this sanctification of memory does not always resist economic interests.

This is the
on-site report by Estelle Levresse.
The European eye of Franceline Beretti
Russia raising the specter of Nazism to justify the war in Ukraine.
We still talked a lot about it, on the occasion of a resounding interview with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
It was last week on a major Italian television channel.
Scandalous remarks which also raise the question of the role of journalists on set.
It is the European eye of
Franceline Beretti.
The Nazi past of the Faculty of Medicine of Strasbourg
The memory of the Second World War and its taboos.
In Strasbourg, in eastern France, an independent commission investigated for six years the role of the Faculty of Medicine in Nazi crimes, experiments and crimes perpetrated on Jewish, homosexual and gypsy prisoners.
Their conclusion is without appeal the institution as a whole is responsible.

A certain idea of Europe by Ukrainian refugees
And the day of Europe... we also celebrate today in the European Parliament, in Strasbourg, the speech of the former Minister for Foreign Affairs Robert Schuman of May 9, 1950, founding text of the European construction.
A present and concrete Europe for the more than 5 million Ukrainian refugees who have fled the fighting in their country.
This is the report by
Alice Rouja
in the Paris region.
