  Tu Haiming, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Hong Kong and chairman of Hong Kong's New Era Development Think Tank, believes that the election of the sixth chief executive is the first chief executive election to be held after the implementation of the National Security Law and the new electoral system in Hong Kong, so it has attracted much attention.

Under the new electoral system, the relationship between the executive and the legislature has been effectively improved, making Hong Kong truly qualified to implement "executive leadership" since its return.

  "Hong Kong citizens expect Li Jiachao to gather the confidence and strength of the society and lead Hong Kong to create greater glories." Tu Haiming told a reporter from China News Agency.

  Under the new electoral system, the electoral committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has increased from 1,200 to 1,500 members, and a fifth sector has been added, namely, representatives of the Hong Kong National People's Congress, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Hong Kong members of relevant national organizations.

The Election Committee, which has been restructured and empowered, is responsible for nominating and electing candidates for the Chief Executive, which helps to ensure that the elected people have a firm national consciousness, can effectively safeguard national sovereignty, security, development interests, and safeguard the overall interests of Hong Kong. Implement the principle of "patriots ruling Hong Kong".

  The nomination of candidates for the Chief Executive adopts the "dual nomination" mechanism. Candidates must be nominated by no less than 188 members of the Election Committee (about one-eighth of all members), and no less than 15 members of each sector must participate in the nomination. Nominees; validly nominated candidates must obtain the support of more than half of all members in order to be elected.

This helps to ensure that the elected people pay attention to the opinions and interests of various sectors of Hong Kong, and safeguard the overall long-term development of Hong Kong.

  Leung Mei-fen, a member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and an associate professor at the City University of Hong Kong Law School, believes that in his election platform, Li Jiachao put forward the key issues and specific directions for the next SAR government, and is good at accepting opinions from all parties and solving problems with innovative thinking.

It is believed that the governance, management and execution capabilities of the SAR government will be enhanced in the future, and will unite all sectors of society to jointly solve deep-seated social problems.

  Yao Zhisheng, president of the Hong Kong Association of the China Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification, said that all sectors of society look forward to Li Jiachao's selection and appointment to lead the community to write a new page in the development of Hong Kong.

Xiao Kai, the founding chairman of the Hong Kong North District Federation of Industry and Commerce, hopes that Li Jiachao will unite and lead all sectors of Hong Kong to resolve the deep-seated conflicts in society and make Hong Kong a better tomorrow.
