A man in his forties is in police custody, suspected of having gouged out his partner's eyes and having stabbed her several times, the Créteil prosecutor's office said on Sunday, contacted by AFP.
The vital prognosis of the woman, whose age has not been specified, is "very committed", added a source close to the investigation.
The facts took place at the beginning of the afternoon in Maisons-Alfort, in the Val-de-Marne.
The man, born in 1981, was arrested and placed in police custody at the premises of the Val-de-Marne judicial police, to whom the investigation was entrusted.
