Russia, Ukraine and around the Black Sea have been a strategic breadbasket since antiquity, one of the original basins of agriculture... and climate change promises to be favorable to agricultural production in these regions.

In the meantime, the invasion of Ukraine begun by Russia in February 2022 and which is likely to last is making its effects felt, which are added to those deleterious of the pandemic and its impact on international trade, not to mention decimated families.

Agricultural impacts therefore, some immediate and local and some long-lasting and global.

Rising raw material prices, rising fertilizer prices.

The price of oil multiplied by four in two years, that of gas by ten over the same period, wheat by two and a half.

Commodity prices are soaring at record speed and the world finds itself once again at the mercy of their vast oscillations.

A surge that also reflects growing financialization and complete deregulation that began forty years ago.
