The person arrested was Yasuo Yamashita (79), a former member of the House of Councilors and a corporate officer in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture.



According to the police, on the 27th of last month, former Senator Yamashita presented the station staff with a pass that was issued while he was in office at JR Tokyo Station so that he could board the JR for free, and then in the application form, the name of the incumbent member of the Diet, etc. There are suspicions of fraud, such as deceiving two limited express tickets for the Tokaido Shinkansen green car between Tokyo Station and Nagoya Station.



Former Representative Yamashita applied for a round-trip limited express ticket, but the station staff mistakenly issued two one-way limited express tickets, so JR Central contacted the office of the Diet member stated in the application form to apologize. It means that the damage was found.
