The sinking accident of a sightseeing boat, which killed 14 people and left 12 people missing off the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, took two weeks in seven days.

In the sea area around the site, the search is being expanded, and in the afternoon, a private company's ship equipped with an unmanned submersible will arrive at Abashiri Port in preparation for the investigation of the hull that sank to the seabed.

On the 23rd of last month, 14 passengers were killed and 12 people are still missing in the accident where the sightseeing boat "KAZU 1" carrying 26 passengers and crew sank off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula.



Even on the 7th, two weeks after the accident, the 1st Regional Coast Guard Headquarters and the Self-Defense Forces are searching for missing persons in a wide area of ​​the sea around the site.



An underwater camera survey of the hull that sank to the bottom of the sea at a depth of about 120 meters was also conducted on the 7th, but no clue was found as of 11:00 am.

For the hull investigation, a private salvage company ship requested by the Japan Coast Guard is scheduled to arrive at Abashiri Port, which is about 80 km away from the site, at around 3:00 pm, and will be installed on the ship in the future. I am going to investigate with an unmanned submersible.



In addition, another workboat carrying a diver who can handle deep seas will join in the future, and we will start searching on board this month to hurry to find the missing person.
