The fact that Will Smith was able to step up on stage and beat Chris Rock during the ongoing Oscars raised many questions about the safety routines at large galas and events.

Dave Chappelle attacked on stage

Recently, comedian Dave Chappelle was also attacked on stage by a man performing at The Hollywood Bowl.

"We've taken additional security measures, including more staff to help with bag checks and other security procedures," The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, the organization that organizes the Hollywood Bowl, told The Wrap.

Actor and director Olivia Wilde was also recently nominated at this year's CimemaCon.

During a speech given by Wilde, an unknown person from the audience handed out legal papers concerning the custody of her children from her ex-husband Jason Sudeikis.

"To protect our studio partners and talent, we will re-evaluate our security protocols," Mitch Neuhauser, head of CinemaCon, told The Hollywood Reporter.

Attacks and storms no new phenomenon

But attacks and storms on stage are not a new phenomenon.

There are several examples from Hollywood, such as when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's speech of thanks at the MTV Gala 2009 to say that Beyoncé's album should have won instead.

Also in Europe, during Eurovision in Oslo 2010, the infamous stormtrooper "Jimmy Jump" ran on stage during Spain's mission.
