He hugged his son and jumped from the tenth floor

An Egyptian father embraced his son and jumped with him from the tenth floor in Nasr City, east of the capital, Cairo, to escape a fire that broke out in his house, yesterday, Friday, which resulted in their immediate death.

Mohamed Ezzat, the owner of a library in the property where the fire broke out in the Al-Waha neighborhood in Nasr City, said that they were surprised by the fall of the father, embracing his 4-year-old son, and they heard a distress call from above, so they saw the mother clinging to the window on the tenth floor, along with two other children.


Ezzat added that the Civil Protection was informed, as firefighting vehicles attended immediately, along with the rescue forces, and the mother and two children were rescued with her.

He explained that after extinguishing the fire, it was found that another 5-year-old girl died as a result of suffocation inside the apartment as a result of the fire.

The bodies of the deceased were transferred for autopsy, and the Public Prosecution assigned the criminal lab to inspect and examine the causes of the fire.
