To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the first railway in Japan, an event was held in which Seibu Railway and Chichibu Railway running in Saitama Prefecture honked each other.

The 7th is the 110th anniversary of the founding of Seibu Railway, and the station staff wore an emblem that says "150th anniversary of the opening of the railway x 110th anniversary of Seibu Railway".

At Seibu Chichibu Station in Chichibu City, the limited express train "Laview" stopped at a platform near the Chichibu Railway, unlike usual.

Then, at around 0:20 pm, the SL "Paleo Express", which makes a round trip on the Chichibu Railway once a day during the tourist season, whistled longer than usual when it approached the section parallel to this station.

In response to that, the limited express train of Seibu Railway also honked a long whistle, and passengers waved and responded from the train window of SL.

Seibu Railway Mayor Norio Ishibashi said, "I will sound the whistle with a vow to carry customers safely."

Shinichi Arafune, Deputy Director of Chichibu Railway, said, "I felt the history of the railway when I saw the SL and Labue lined up. I hope that the corona will fit and many customers will come to the Chichibu area." I was talking.
