The Regional Health Agency has announced the temporary closure of the emergency services and the SMUR of the Hospital Center of Oloron Sainte-Marie (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), this Friday from 9 a.m.

The reason is the lack of staff.

However, these services will reopen this Saturday, reports Sud Ouest.

The hospital center is experiencing great difficulty in recruiting medical staff.

As proof, the emergency department was already operating, from May 1 to 3, in minimum service, explain our colleagues.

Towards other closures in the coming months?

The ARS indicated in a press release that the tensions "are such that the usual levers such as the interim and the reorganization of the services were not enough to maintain the usual organization".

The Agency took the decision to activate helicopter means to cover the territory.

According to the director of the hospital, this type of temporary closure could happen again in the coming months.
