In a Nespresso factory in Switzerland, 500 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated value of around 50 million Swiss francs (around 48 million euros) have been seized.

Employees of the Nestlé company in Romont found a white substance in sacks with freshly delivered coffee beans, the police in the canton of Friborg said.

An analysis turned out to be cocaine.

The police then searched the five sea containers that were delivered to the factory by train that day, discovered and confiscated more than 500 kilograms of drugs.

The containers probably came from Brazil.

Police said it appeared the cocaine was intended for the European market.

The drugs did not come into contact with the company's products.
