After the Easter riots, the Christian Democrats' party leader Ebba Busch spoke about all the injured policemen and asked in an Eco-interview the rhetorical question: "Why do we not have at least a hundred injured Islamists, a hundred injured criminals, a hundred injured insurgents?"

In a news article from Sveriges Radio's Arabic editorial staff, however, "Islamists" were translated into "Muslims", something that Dagens Nyheter first noticed.

Now the site Doku reveals that SR's Somali editorial staff also distorted Busch's statement - and twisted the quote further.

A caption to a portrait of Busch reads: "KD party leader Ebba accuses the police of not killing many Muslims."

KD's party secretary Peter Kullgren tells Doku that SR's editorial boards spread pure lies and in channels where it is most difficult to detect.

- The fact that it happened in both the Arab and Somali broadcasts indicates that it is set in a system.

We demand an explanation and a meeting with the management of Swedish Radio.

They now have to explain how they manage their publishing business.

In a written response to Doku, SR's editor-in-chief Gaby Katz regrets what happened.

"It is very sad that it has gone wrong, and therefore good that it is pointed out so that we can also correct the errors and that this also reaches out - we are now clear that corrections have been made in the current publications where we change.

We also ensure that there is nothing similar in other publications about this.

We want nothing more than for the reporting to be correct and accurate ”.
